With two months to go until the premiere of the second season of the hit series Stranger Things, a Netflix exclusive, directors the Duffer brothers have already confirmed that a third season will happen.
At the end of the first season, we saw the Hawkins A.V. club defeat the monster, albeit at the apparent loss of Eleven. We’ve seen from the trailers for season 2 that she returns; we also know that season 2 will focus on the broader mythology of the series, and will even leave the town of Hawkins, Indiana.
As for season 3, there’s no telling what it could be about. Matt Duffer, in an interview withVulture, said, “I don’t know if we can keep having something bad happen to them once a year.” When asked if there’s a hopeful note for them to go out on, he offered that, “They’ll have to get the fuck out of town.”
Stranger Things season 2 hits Netflix October 27, 2017.
