“Push me to the edge, all my friends are dead…”
There’s something insanely striking about the hook of (arguably) the most impactful song of the summer — Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO Tour Llif3.” Now, the groundbreaking track has been hooked up with some of the sickest visuals we’ve ever seen to match the song’s already reputable status in the music world.
The song was recently recognized by MTV‘s Video Music Awards before it even had an official video — as the rapper took home a Moonman for “Song of the Summer.” Little did we know the trippy lyric video was just the beginning.
Directed by Virgil Abloh and produced by the team at Off-WhiteTM Films, this work of art takes the catchy phrase and runs with it — straight into a perfectly depicted, bloody and beautiful visual representation of what’s happening lyrically.
We gotta admit, we’re not 100% sure what’s going on with the storyline of this music video, but we do know it’s an all-around stunner in terms of filmography, special effects, and pure artistic vision. Plus, The Weeknd is in it, which is rad. Leave it to Lil Uzi Vert to make things weird in the best way possible… Just watch!
