Twitter Declares Fifth Harmony’s “Down” Featuring Gucci Mane as Song of the Summer

Everyone has their own definition of “song of the summer” for 2017…

If we’re going by record-breaking streams it’s certainly Luis Fonsi x Daddy Yankee “Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber, or if we’re taking MTV‘s word for it, then it’s Lil Uzi Vert‘s “XO TOUR Llif3.” According to Zedd and others, The Chainsmokers‘ “Closer” featuring Halsey is the ultimate summer song.

Twitter has it’s own idea of song of the summer, according to Time. After tracking the most tweeted-about songs between May 26 and August 29, the social media giant declared the ladies of Fifth Harmony‘s “Down” featuring Gucci Mane as the hottest track of the season. The “it” girl group was also taken under Skrillex’s wing this summer as he produced “Angel” for the pop stars.

This particular song of the summer title should really be taken in stride though, and looked at more as an indicator that most of Fifth Harmony’s superfans live and breathe every move the girls make, and are extremely active on Twitter. Just search Fifth Harmony or Harmonizers and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
